Covert* spent 30 years as a Jehovah’s Witness before waking up and being spat out into the real world much as Neo was in the Matrix. Unlike Neo, however, Covert doesn’t have reality-bending mind powers, cool sunglasses or kung-fu skills. What he does have is a deep love for genre-culture, including films, books, TV and video games.

When not chilling out on the Uncultured cast with his fellow cast-mates, Covert can be found on his own podcast, JW Forwardcast, helping former Jehovah’s Witnesses and other ex-cult members move on and rebuild their lives.

Patricia* spent nearly three decades as a die-hard Jehovah’s Witness, complete with pioneering, “need-greater” work, and forgoing higher education. For the last seven or so years, she has been catching up on what she missed.

She is now looking forward to sharing what she has discovered (and rediscovered) since she has woken up. When she is not doing nerdy podcast things, Patricia is enjoying the great Pacific Northwest outdoors and preparing for a career in medical anthropology.

Jordan Johnson: the man, the myth, the LEGEND.

He spent the first 25 years of his life as a JW, including a 7 year stint in “full-time service” that has left gaps in his knowledge of pop culture. He is probably the least “savvy” of the uncultured crew, but he brings a curiosity and passion for new things that is unmatched.

When not being the evil mastermind behind uncultured, Jordan enjoys taking ALL of the courses on Udemy, playing World of Warcraft, and hanging with friends.

The insufferable know-it-all of the cast, Germ was born and raised as a Jehovah’s Witness and left in 2004.

Pop culture served as a warm blanket that got him through the first rocky years, where he buried himself in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Final Fantasy games in lieu of therapy. He thinks he turned out okay, but that’s subjective.

When not plotting his hostile takeover of un•cult•ured (or trying to teach everyone how to type a bullet point), Germ is a rare bookseller by day, even rarer book writer by night. He’s the host of the YouTube channel Mentally Diseased, where he talks exJW and LGBTQ topics. More recently, he talks fantasy and horror topics on YouTube channel GermTube.
